Steps to Repair Cement Garden Statues
Step 1: The first step is to collect the broken pieces and move the garden statue in an open area away from the delicate plants and pots. Once you do this, start by wetting the garden statue with help of the garden hose.
Step 2: Get a non-abrasive brush or a sponge and scrub the statue with it. The main purpose behind this step is to remove the dirt and other debris which can be a show stopper while repairing the statue.
Step 3: Now, you need to let the moisture evaporate. Do not expose the statue to the heat or fire to quicken the process. Let it dry naturally. Get a quick patch epoxy and start reading the instructions on this. If required, mix the required contents of the epoxy. There are some single tube epoxy available but we suggest you to go for the one with two tubes.
Step 4: In this step, you need to apply the epoxy on the statue after mixing it and squeeze the broken pieces together. You can use a soft applicator or putty knife for this. Ensure that you apply the epoxy properly before you stick the broken parts together. Apply the pressure on the parts for at least 3 minutes.
Step 5: Once the epoxy is a little hard, scrape off the excess from a putty knife as this would ensure that there are no ridges or bumps on the statue. You will have a smooth finish with help of this step. Ideally, you can do this after 15 minutes of application.
Step 6: Leave the statue at its place for 24 to 48 hours so that the epoxy hardens and sticks the parts together.
